Congregate Living facility

A Congregate living health facility is a residential care home with a capacity of no more than six beds, which provides 24-hour skilled nursing and supportive elder care. This type of facility combines private living quarters with centralized dining services, some shared living spaces and access to limited social and recreational activities. This care is generally less intensive than that provided in general acute care hospitals, but more intense than that provided in skilled nursing facilities. Many congregate care facilities offer transportation services, personal care services, rehabilitative services, spiritual programs and other support services for senior care.
