New York Times reported a story about Davis, California where a couple and their friends – 12 individuals (and future residents)- were beginning to consider retirement about 5 years ago created an idea for a housing community composed of entirely seniors. They named it Glacier Circle and began building – a series of town homes (8 currently), and a common house under construction for communal dinners and activities with a skilled nurse who will live upstairs. The group in Davis bought the land, hired an architect, worked out the insurance and lobbied zoning issues together.
